Your day begins with a deep dive into the heart of Ethiopian culture: coffee. We will take you to a traditional coffee center where you will embark on a detailed journey through the world of Ethiopia's most famous export. You will learn to identify different quality types and regional varieties of Arabica beans by their color, size, and aroma. The experience becomes truly participatory as you witness and partake in the traditional roasting process, hearing the beans crackle and smelling the rich, fragrant smoke. You will then be guided through the intricate steps of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, from grinding the beans to the three rounds of brewing. Finally, you will taste the exquisite result, appreciating the complex flavors of a truly fresh cup of coffee.

In the afternoon, we transition from cultural ritual to imperial history with a visit to the recently opened Jubilee Palace, also known as the National Palace. This was the official residence of Emperor Haile Selassie and has been meticulously restored and opened to the public as a museum. Walking through its grand halls, you will get a glimpse into the life of the last emperor, view priceless artifacts of the imperial era, and admire the stunning architecture and opulent throne rooms. This visit offers a powerful and poignant look at a pivotal chapter in Ethiopia's modern history, providing a perfect counterpoint to the morning's cultural immersion before we return you to your hotel.
